Using one of our downloadable patterns you can knit your very own Duncan the donkey, Hattie the horse, Oscar the ox or Emma the elephant! You can also crochet Clarence the camel, all to help Working Animals International treat hardworking animals in need.

You can purchase the pattern in our shop to get started.

When you’ve finished knitting your chosen animal, you may of course like to keep them, but should you wish to donate them to Working Animals International, they’ll find a very special home in one of our animal clubs for schoolchildren in the countries we work. There, they will continue to spread our animal welfare messages to the next generation of animal owners. Please send your finished knitted animals to:

Actress and supporter, Pam Ferris, is delighted to be supporting the campaign. She said:

Knitting for Working Animals International (formerly SPANA) means you can enjoy being creative while raising much-needed funds to help sick and injured working animals in developing countries throughout the world. Whether you’re an experienced knitter or a complete novice, I’d encourage everyone to pick up their needles and have a go at making one of these adorable animals.
