We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ann Widdecombe. We are grateful to Ann for her longstanding dedication to animal welfare and for being a supporter of our work.

In 2014, Ann visited Egypt as part of our campaign to improve conditions for working horses at the Pyramids of Giza. In 2018, she visited our work in Mauritania, where she met donkeys and their owners, who transport water across the capital, Nouakchott. Later that year, she also supported our campaign to remember the many millions of animals that have been used and killed in one hundred years of war.

Ann was a passionate champion of animals and their welfare. We are deeply grateful for her support of our charity. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
