Fikir, a three-year-old transport donkey from Gondar, Ethiopia, arrived at a mobile clinic run by our local partner with a painful laceration on her front right leg. Her injury had been caused by bumping into another cart while carrying a heavy load. Over time, her wound had become infected. The vet cleaned and disinfected Fikir’s injury, applied a bandage and prescribed antibiotics and pain relief to treat the infection and ease her discomfort. With daily bandage changes over five days, Fikir’s wound healed significantly. Her owner was also advised to keep loads at a safe weight. Your gift will be used where it is needed most.
