When an emergency strikes, working animals are often overlooked. They can face extreme weather, natural disasters and conflict. Our teams are dedicated to providing lifesaving care when it matters most. In Turkana, Kenya, drought and water scarcity have severely impacted the health of camels and donkeys. They drink from stagnant, potentially contaminated water, putting them at risk of parasitic infections and even fatal illnesses. Working with our local partner, Utunzi Animal Welfare, we provide clean water, distribute feed and treat animals in urgent need. Beyond immediate response, we invest in long-term solutions such as maintaining boreholes and training water committees to manage water points and ensure their upkeep.
