Dama, works as a \u2018gharry\u2019 (taxi) horse in Bishoftu, Ethiopia, transporting people every day, helping his owner, Abera support his family. When Dama developed tetanus \u2013 showing stiffness, difficulty walking and a partially locked jaw \u2013 Abera rushed him to a mobile clinic run by our local partner, Addis Ababa University. Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection and prompt treatment is crucial. Dama received a course of antibiotics and, due to the severity of his condition, was taken to the Bishoftu animal health & welfare centre for ongoing care and monitoring.
